The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation announced on February 16, 2018 that the organization has entered into an ongoing partnership with The Standard, Hollywood.
The fundraising partnership will kick off on February 24, 2018, at “Giorgio’s,” a party created by film producer Bryan Rabin and recording artist/DJ Adam Bravin. The fundraiser will celebrate Elizabeth Taylor’s birthday and the twenty-fifth anniversary of her receiving the Motion Picture Academy’s Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for AIDS activism.
The fundraiser is just the first of many fundraising events that The Standard will host in partnership with ETAF. Also beginning on February 24, The Standard will invite hotel guests to honor Elizabeth Taylor’s activism by making a $2 donation to benefit ETAF upon check-in. Since Ms. Taylor had the foresight to set up her Trust to fully fund the operational costs of ETAF, one hundred percent of every donation directly impacts the lives of people affected by HIV and AIDS in the U.S. and around the world.
In a prepared release, ETAF Vice President, Communications Cristin Klein said, “Consistently ahead of her time, Elizabeth Taylor’s acceptance speech onstage at the 65th Academy Awards was a message of hope, love, and unity, remarks that continue to inspire today.” From the very beginning in 1991, ETAF has supported marginalized communities, funding social support HIV/AIDS organizations as well as innovative HIV prevention education and advocacy programs. ETAF has granted millions of dollars to more than 675 organizations in 44 countries and 42 states in the U.S.
