On Saturday, May 18, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., The Life Group LA will present “Elevate: The Next Level of Care: Aging & HIV+,” a free one-day seminar designed for HIV-positive folks over the age of fifty and those who love them. Focused on legal concerns, the seminar is designed to “invigorate and re-awaken your connection to community, self-care and purpose” by connecting seminar attendees in an interactive experience with experts in the field of HIV care, the law, and aging.
The seminar will address the following topics: Disability and Medical Rights, Discrimination, Creating or Revising Legal Documents, and Integrating Your Healthcare Teams. Keynote speakers include Marina Pantchenko, attorney at law, Michael P. Flattery, attorney at law, and Joseph Leahy, Janssen Therapeutics. The event is sponsored in part by APLA Healthcare and Janssen Therapeutics.
Founded in 2005, The Life Group LA is a coalition of people dedicated to the education, empowerment and emotional support of PLWHA so that they may make informed choices and decisions regarding their healthcare and personal well being. The group provides free, much-needed information and emotional support through medical forums, support groups and the POZ Life Weekend Seminar. All services are offered in a non-judgmental and safe environment with compassion and understanding.
