The HealtheVoices Conference, a three-day event that brings together online advocates from across various health conditions, including HIV/AIDS, provides valuable content, such as tips to further engage and grow an audience; thought-provoking conversation; and networking opportunities for online health advocates to learn and share.
The deadline for applications to attend, for both new attendees and repeat attendees, is January 20, 2019. The conference occurs April 12 to 14, 2019, at the Hilton Dallas Lincoln Centre, at 5410 Lyndon B Johnson Freeway in Dallas, Texas.
The conference accepts applications from the community of online health advocates in various disciplines. To ensure a meaningful, diverse experience, they seek health advocates representing a wide range of health conditions in addition to HIV/AIDS. Representatives of the conference sponsors, Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a Johnson & Johnson company, evaluate each applicant’s submission closely. Applicants must show a strong social media presence, including a current blog/website, Twitter handle, Facebook page, YouTube channel, podcast and/or Instagram platform focused on regular advocacy efforts. Special consideration is given to ensuring diverse representation across a wide array of health communities. Returning advocates applying to attend HealtheVoices, some fifty percent of attendees, will be selected through a blind lottery drawing within their respective health communities.
Janssen covers the costs for ground transportation or air travel to and from the conference, hotel fees and meals during the official conference hours. Attendees will also each receive a $100 travel stipend toward reimbursable expenses.
