Circle of Harmony HIV/AIDS Wellness Conference

As a measure of caution, the Circle of Harmony HIV/AIDS Wellness Conference (COH) planning committee decided this year’s meeting will be virtual. The conference, whose theme is “Uplifting Our People: Soaring to New Heights,” is “in recognition of the resilience and innovation of tribal communities during the pandemic and how we envision the future of ending the HIV epidemic in our communities,” according to COH’s website. The conference will take place August 24-26.

Coordinated by the Albuquerque Area Indian Health Board’s Community Health Education and Resiliency Program with input from experts in the field of HIV and members of the National Native HIV Network, COH is one-of-a-kind—the only event to focus on HIV/AIDS prevention and substance abuse prevention from a Native American-centric point of view.
On the agenda: best practices for implementing PrEP navigation, the intersection of mental health and HIV prevention and treatment, and strategies for advancing health equity.
